    Screen tops are garbage for keeping snakes. Look into a AP or vision cage even a rack, something along that line. A simple tub with secure top is better than anything with a screen top. It will save you a lot of hassle.

    I believe we overthink humidity "requirements" for snakes sometimes. As long as most snakes are well hydrated they should do just fine. They get most of their hydration from their drinking water and their prey. I understand some tropical species like BRBs and GTPs need consistently higher than ambient humidity. I didn't find it necessary when I kept BPs.I've had perfect sheds with ambient humidity as low as 30% during winter months. I live in the Southeast where it's naturally more humid but it was the same when I lived in the Midwest. I've kept my snakes in tubs, screen covered 40g tanks and now AP cages. When I notice they're going into shed I'll offer a moist hide or occasionally mist the enclosure.
