Heh... I find this kind of funny, because I don't have pictures of any of my snakes on my phone. But then, I don't use a smartphone. However, even if I were selling one, there wouldn't be any pictures on my phone.

I see. That's a little different from how I operate...

also looks like a pewter to me. I think the yellow tone is just the photo. I threw this into photoshop, auto level for color adjustment and this looks much more classic silver pewter

Man, that makes a world of difference. I think my eyes were assuming that fabric next to it was green. Thanks for that!

Sometimes it's hard to walk away from a animal for sale that is really screaming at you. Even if the seller has no clue to the true genetics of the animal. But the red flags should go up in that case and you should assume there will be other issues that will arise with the animal. Health issues mainly or something else unforeseen. Buy from someone who has the exact info on what they are selling. This way you will be more likely to be satisfied. There are quite a few breeders with exceptional pewters that will back up what they sell and have all the pertinent information on the animal.

    Pretty snake after those adjustments!

But yeah, another one for "this guy is sketchy". Pewters are pretty common so if that's what you're looking for, finding a nice one shouldn't be a hassle. Good luck!

I also think it looks like a pewter, especially with the color shift in the photos.

Since it's a local face-to-face sale where you can put hands on the snake before buying it I would take a look if I was in the market for that morph, so I could also check for mites, RI, etc. I wouldn't send funds and risk having the animal shipped with this type of buyer.

I also really don't have tons of pictures on my phone of my snakes. There's some but I don't always have a photo of something handy on it.

One quick trick I've used in the past is to google something like "pewter ball python" images, pick the first one with an item in the picture and then request the seller take a photo with that item. So if it's a coke can, you ask for a shot of the snake with a coke can. If they are a lazy scammer with no snake, they'll grab the first photo on google they see with the item. Easy catch.

If the seller doesn't know what he has, doesn't give a price, then I would back off and leave it. There's way too many super nice snakes for sale from good breeders.
