    Sorry for double-posting. But I thought it may also be useful to know that while Ball Pythons do need belly heat (making a UTH/heat tape/heat panel the best option), if for any reason the room dips under 75 degrees Fahrenheit, you'll also need a ceramic heat emitter such as this white one or this black one (a funny-looking light bulb that emits no light, basically; color of bulb makes no difference to my knowledge), a lamp dome, and a second thermostat. A space heater can work temporarily, but that will not provide a temperature gradient to allow your BP to thermoregulate properly, so CHE's are the best option to raise ambient temperatures if needed.

    Ball pythons are nocturnal, so no, you don't need UV light. Or any actual light at all, aside from display light if the room doesn't have enough overhead lighting for your animal-viewing satisfaction.
