Mixing Lines??

If you think you can spot the difference between a Butter and Lesser... congrats. ;) Unfortunately that's still not fool proof or guaranteed, and not many will take your word for it anyway. Butter and Lesser has probably been interchanged so much that what the breeder tells you should be taken with a grain of salt unless you're buying from someone that produced the original line or someone that has purchased from the original line and has been meticulous throughout the years. If you don't want to buy from someone that breeds a Butter to a Lesser, then don't. :gj:

Yeah but a Lesser Mojave is not the same as a Lesser Butter, you can distinguish a Mojave from a Lesser, but that task is not that easy (some say impossible) with a Butter and a Lesser so if i want to work with a Butter project, my choice is not go to a breeder who has those lines mixed because at the end the breeder could be selling you a Lesser saying it's a Butter because at the end, both morphs are in most case undistinguished. The same happens with the Cinnamon and Black Pastel etc etc etc.

I understand someone who says that they don't have any problem with those lines been mixed, but no one can tell me that there is no problem with that issue and for example you can work in a Black Pastel project using and 8ball for example.

I'm a bit confused why Black Pastel and Cinnamon are making this list....those are 2 different genes.

Black Pastel and Cinnys are very easy to tell apart. You may need to start looking at better quality animals.
As far as Butter and Lesser, they are basically the same gene with two different names.
I would steer more away from all these normal with new names. LoL

Yes you are.

CG and Banana are the same animal that come from different lines same for lesser and butter.

Would you think twice about buying a pastel? I can tell you that if you buy a Pastel it is probably a mix of various lines (Graziani, Nerd etc), same with Cinnies (Gulf Coast Reptiles, Ian G, Graziany etc), very few people have pure lines or even know the line they have.

I am a control freak and keep track of lines for all my projects, some I mix some I don't, sometimes mixing lines allows you to achieve an even better looking animal (That's called selective breeding), for example my best looking Hypo combos are a mix of 3 different lines and I can tell you that so long the animal is compatible if the animal is a great example people do not mind mixing lines.
