No it's not

To the OP

Switching to cypress mulch, partially covering the top of your enclosure are some of the thing that you can do, and remember keeping proper humidity is one thing but at the same time you do not want to have a damp substrate.

Also make sure that you are getting an accurate reading with a digital hygrometer not an analog one.

Go to your local home improvement store and have them cut you a piece of plexiglass to fit over the screen lid only leaving an opening for the hear lamp. Use aspen bedding and keep the water dish on the warm side.
Doing this keeps humidity in the 50-60 range in AZ where ambient is 35% on a good day.

I was looking to increase my cold side temperature - it's currently at 75F. What's the accepted minimum to avoid RI etc?

Another vote for a box of moist moss here too - in the less dry ambient air in England, it's almost too effective. And my girl seemed to like lying in it during her shed despite 65% ambient. But I would imagine it would need to be replaced regularly to avoid bacterial growth?

You'll probably get a bunch of opinions with this question, so I'll jump in with mine.
For me, I never want to see it below 72 degrees ambient. I've had good success keeping it between 78 and 82 degrees. It will fluctuate somewhat with the outer room temp, but with belly heat at the back of the rack holding my hot spot, I haven't seen too many times when the cool side got out of parameters.

Humid hides with moss and sprayed intermittently, humid retaining substrate like 100% cypress mulch or Repti bark are helpful. Covering the top screen with foil or a dampened towel also help. When I had glass enclosures I used a "versa top". A folding glass top perfectly constructed to fit standard tanks based on the gallon capacity. They are commercially available at Petco, Petland and Petsmart. Humidity issues will get resolved right away. Versa tops also will increase your ambient temps.

Keeps in mind that RI seen in collection are usually the results of different combined factors such as low temps, stress, humidity, sanitary condition etc.

The usual minimum temps recommended for this species is usually 75 but I have seen it being maintained slightly below without issues.
