    Haha so true. And yeah I like the warmth. I think I picked the wrong state to live in though. Only warm about 2 months a year here in Washington State, but those 2 months are really pretty.

    I would avoid a UTH in a wooden viv just because the typical solutions are to put it up on a vertical wall (not very effective), or adhere it to the floor, and seal something over it (sounds like a pain).

    @Distaff - just out of curiosity, what size are your tanks and how cold is your house? I'm just setting up a new enclosure, and we keep our (house) thermostat set pretty low too... and it's programmed to go lower overnight and during the day when we're not home. I set up everything and turned it all on at full power this morning just to get a baseline... then I'll start messing with dimmers and thermostats and stuff. So until I get home and see how it does, I won't really know anything. (No animal yet until I know it's all working)

    But I'm still curious about the temperature of your house and your setup, in case I need to start trying other things!
