FYI-Paper towels (or any wood product for that matter) is organic and will mold/rot during the incubation period. Therefore it makes a really bad substrate for wet conditions for prolonged periods. I learned the hard way one year when I ruined a perfectly good clutch by having the great idea of using them over messy, dirty, germy other substrates. Turns out vermiculite, sand, substrate less, or pebbles is after all the correct choice for substrate.

I use soaked vermiculite and rest a light diffuser on two cut pieces of pvc pipes to desired height. Plenty of moisture, no wet eggs...it's cheap, easy, and works.
