I unrolled it but the head part was mangled and too stuck together to figure. No. My thermometers are not stick-ons so that isn't an issue. I don't really have a way to get the humidity much higher than 50% except the paper towels in the hides because it's winter and I live in a VERY dry area.

You can try a different substrate like Cypress mulch, it's much better for humidity. Substitute the paper towels for sphagnum moss and put some in both the tank and in the hides and just make sure it stays moist. Daily misting twice a day helps also. You can move the water source closer to the heat source, just make sure you clean the dish often and refill as needed. Those are all things I did when I had tanks with mesh tops. I also kept damp towels on the top instead of foil.

Mist inside the tank daily if need be during the shed. I have to do that in winter bc it's dry. Adding Sphagnum moss this week to my enclosure to up the humidity.

There doesn't seem to be a ragged edge so it may just be the skin that joins the eyecap onto the rest of the skin that got pulled outwards a little during the shed.

The eye itself looks remarkably clear for there to be any retained eyecaps. I'd simply keep monitoring it at this point rather than trying to remove anything.

Cool. Water is right under the heat source so that's helping. I was told by the lady where I bout my tank that the sphagnum substrate would be the best they had so I didn't see if they had the cypress one you mentioned. It was a local business so they don't have much.
