With the latest estimates being a 576 million dollar payout after everything is said and done, I would set aside 200 million to live off the interest from, 5% would be 10m a year for life, should be doable pretty easily. Pay off all of my debt and my parents debt. Give them enough to retire now and travel/relax while they can. Fix my Dad's teeth too, he hates his new dentures with a passion. Spend a couple million on land, new house, new garage and new snake room with about 20-30 snakes to really build out my collection and my breeding hobby. Finish my road race blazer. Stock up my gunsafe with the essentials, get a truck that can handle the weather up here and a car that's a little more comfortable than my Sonic. Donate the other 250-300 million to various charities, would really like to spread it between something that actually does some good for Vets(homeless and PTSD especailly) and a no kill shelter or two. Probably bring home about a half dozen shelter dogs who are on short time and give them a good home.

Send funds to a couple of animal shelters.
    Pay off the land mortgage.

    Fencing
    Deeper well
    solar
    sheep
get an alfalfa and grass hay fields set up so we are not always dealing with buying hay
    Better barns and green houses
High end buck for the dairy goats
    expand nut and fruit orchard
livestock guardian dogs for the four legged predators
security cameras and more armaments for the two leggedes
    bomb shelter

I'd take a small chunk and go wild. Buy whatever I wanted just to get it out of my system. Then I would pay off all debt, buy a house and maybe a vacation home. A good sum would go to various charities. The rest would be tied up in a trust and I would set it up to pay me a certain amount each year and the rest would sit and grow. I'd also set up a perpetual school fund for any family who wanted to go to college. For my immediate family, I would not give them a lump sum. I would set up trusts for each member and give them a monthly stipend to live comfortably. That way they couldn't blow the money. I need to protect them from themselves. Lol.

I would probably go back to school and get a degree in something I was interested in, learn a craft, and do whatever I wanted. If I ever worked again, it would be for myself doing something I loved.

Its sure fun to day dream. I think the most enjoyable part would be to help others. You could change a lot of lives.

Someone once said to me something that really put the odds in perspective. He asked me, "When was the last time you had a conversation with your wife about what you would do when you're struck by lightning?" I said, "I've never had that conversation." He said, "Why not? Your odds are better at that then hitting the lottery."

That being said, I still play. But I only ever purchase one ticket and I just do a computer pic for numbers. Don't really think about what I'll do until I have too. Right now just it's wasted thoughts and time.

If I were to ever hit the power ball, I would pay off all my debts make sure my immediate family is secure for a while. buy a new house on enough land to where I can have a reptile facility built, new car, and donate a decent amount to USARK's defense

Interestingly enough we had a group at work hit one of the smaller payouts, $50k split between 25 people. Not life-altering cash but a nice little windfall.

And no, I didn't play. I've never purchased a lottery ticket in my life.

More like $1300 after taxes. Fun money but not life-altering.
