Mine has been a sweetheart from day one. I got her from an awesome breeder (Cliff from Living Gems Reptiles is one of the best snake people I know), and none of the BRBs are shipped out until they're eating regularly and comfortable with people. That said, I've also heard babies tend to be nippy, but a snake's gotta do what a snake's gotta do to defend itself, right? :P

Anyhow, she's about a year and a half old now, and curious as ever. Comes right out when I open the door to her enclosure. :) All my snakes get held briefly about every other day unless they've eaten or are about to shed, and sometimes I'll just grab one and hang out for a little longer. None of them are aggressive or try to get away anymore, and my BRB is no exception. In fact, if it helps, she's also the only one that reaches out to investigate new people when they see her. I'm too boring for her, apparently.

What do you use for heating because heat lamps dry out the enclosure? I see people use heat panels and heating pads. Do you use heat panels and where should I get them?

I've heard great things about Pro-Products (pro-products.com). They will select the perfect heat panel based on a few questions you answer about your enclosure, ambient temps, and snake.
