Poor animal. I hope it didn't suffer long. I've found deer still alive, but wounded and starving to death from being hit by a car. I support hunting - but no creature should suffer a slow death.

It may not have looked like much! But the appraiser came on Thursday, and estimated roughly $4,000 worth of damages.

Her radiator was cracked and leaking, the front bumper was cracked and chipped (still had deer fur and blood on it too), the one fog light was cracked and broken, and the hood was bent in and buckled up on the sides. So she's getting brand new hood, brand new front bumper, a new radiator, and new fogs. I'm very blessed that there was only mild structure damage and that the deer didn't roll onto the car.

I only had to pay a $250 deductible with USAA so I'm quite thankful for that, however no rental!

Its at the body shop now, and should have her back good as new by Friday.

    Thanks for all the support!

No rental? That's kind crappy but at least you don't have a high deductible.

I wasn't too bummed about it; I work 3rd shift, and by the time I have to go to work (9pm) my parents are home, and I can just take one of their cars, and I get home before they leave for work. Other than that, looks like it'll be my fiancée driving us around instead of me always driving.

But it's still going to be a long week! I miss my car!
