I wish that iguanas weren't so widely available & regarded as disposable pets.

Water monitors - awesome if you have the room to house them.

Croc monitors...intelligent. They figure things out.

Rhino iggies - hell of a bite, but the cutest living dinosaurs going. ;)

Yeah, I don't know if I am 100% on this but I think I heard that growing beardies can eat as much as 12-16 crickets a day and a pile of fruit with that. Then you have to feed them 2-3 times a week. TOO MUCH IN MY OPINION!

I hear that it is 16-20 crickits a day, and that you feed them everday! Ahh! Anyway, yah, Iguanas are not something I'd want as a pet. You get bit by one of those things, and you are introduced to thousands of horrible bacterian. I have seen tons of wild ones in mexico. They are pretty cool, but ony from behind a fence.

Amen to that one. If you want a cute little green thing, get an anole.

Ooh.. crocodile monitors. World's longest lizard.. they have an awesome look about them. We have two at work. Very neat buggers. It's cool to watch them climb..

Also blue tree monitors are breathtaking. A true blue lizard. Can't beat that.

I saw the albino waters on the nerd website. Simply awesome. If that proves genetic (why wouldn't it?) I'm buying one.. in a few decades. ;)

Let me tell you...it all got redefined for me the night our big 9' male - Papa - had an abcessed tooth. He let Kev open his mouth, extract the tooth & irrigate the wound with just a mere tongue-flick. Talk about an animal that knows how to trust people if it's handled right...it was almost eerie to watch!

Aren't they gorgeous? And have you seen the yellow version? Not melinus but an actual YELLOW tree monitor - as sleek and sexy as the greens, blues & blacks. They're STUNNING!

We've already produced 14 hets...so maybe albinos next year if all goes well. Our homozygous albino group consists of 2.1...and we also have an albino blue-tail...she's so elegant. ;)

    Big lizards just RULE!

Wow.. well if you look in those eyes, you know something's going on up there. They watch you through the glass.. they wonder what we're up to I think.

I love ALL the tree monitors. I actually haven't seen a yellow tree monitor though. I googled them and didn't see any good pics. :?

Cool.. het albinos. The baby albinos will be awesome.

Do you guys use those galvanized water troughs for enclosures, or something custom? I read somewhere about using the troughs.. I think they'd be somewhat economical.

I currentily own 3 bearded dragons

They are intellegent and love attention. As far as food goes my oldest female ( 19 months ) eats an un-countable amount of superworms and crickets, she also lovves her BokChoi
My two smaller dragons ( 8 months ) male and female, both eat alot
I figure it costs me about 6-10 dollars a week ( some times less , never more) for food.
There is alot of maitnence but in my oppinion its all worth it
