Re: So far so good.
HA! You guys won't make it easy LOL!
She is nice, and if I do re-home her I will be quite selective. She has been a terrible eater, and I just don't enjoy snakes that eat so sporadically. I have a royal python that drives me nuts, and my only consistent eater is my BC.
I spoke at length today with Nick Mutton. A 2 hour plus conversation and he is as good as it gets when it comes to being a PLUS to the hobby.
I am very locality oriented and am considering a Brisbane coastal.
I will not "dump" my girl, but I don't think the original sale was well researched on my part, and it certainly was not on the part of the breeder. The snake is nice, but probably far less coastal than I wanted.
One of the more enjoyable parts of the hobby for me is the feeding part. It doesn't have to be frequent , but when I wait over a month and have a refusal, and then wait another couple of weeks and get the same, I feel like I have another royal.
It doesn't matter what the prey size is, or if it is live or F/Td, it ends up being a waste of prey and $$ and I for whatever reason have grown a bit tired of it.
I have a very serious locality boa constrictor and I am headed that direction with all the snakes I want to keep.
If I was able to add another, and keep this girl I would, but I don't see that happening.
Nothing is set in stone, but when I see Ziggy's beauties from Nick, I feel like I owe myself another locality.
I WILL NOT do anything unless I can place my girl with a good home. If that doesn't happen she will stay here and I will do nothing.

Re: So far so good.
I'm sure you'll find her an excellent home if that's your choice Gio. I know what you mean about picky eaters. My Cal King only eats about half the year and it gets a bit frustrating. I've got more than enough snakes to dispose of any refusals but I often think about putting another carpet in that space. :D

Ha! It happens to the best of them LOL!
I was under the impression Kings never refused unless they were in a state of burmation.
The refusals coupled with my love for locality animals seems to increase the urge.
The carpet I have, is very nice and easy to handle. There is nothing wrong with her, I know with my limited options I'd enjoy a pure locality specimen.
Nothing is set in stone or in motion yet.
Your carpets look incredible!

Gio, I'm very surprised that your Coastal is a picky eater, that is so unlike a Coastal. :confusd:
