Burmese vs retic
OP left out Anacondas which are a way cool too! :snake:

Don't discriminate just because they are viviparous (live bearing). :)

I love all of the Giants. Hard choice.

Team burm. I own two and love them with all of my heart. However eventually i can see myself owning a SD or Dwarf platinum retic forsure. Only because i would admire its beauty and intelligence as an animal and being and would be something different to "play" with every once in a while when the burms are all puckered out and the tic wants to be handled. :):)

It's a tough call. I don't own either now, but would probably opt for a retic if / when the super dwarfs become more widely available, affordable, and breeders have worked out of some the temperament issues by crossing them with dwarfs. I just don't have the space or desire for a larger snake (say, 8' and over), but retics are just gorgeous so if the smaller ones are ever more reliably handle-able, I'd opt for a SD morph of some type. The dwarf Burms are interesting too... and I do like the caramel albino Burms.

I haven't owned a retic yet, but of those I've been around verses the burms I've had, I prefer the burms. Not sure if my perception is really correct, but device seem to have an activity level similar to a corn snake, but with a huge increase in size and intelligence. Guess I'm just a sucker for my big and slightly dumb burms.

The little I've been around burms, they just seem to have good vibes. Even the videos are relaxing.
Retics are more like being in the same room with say, Vladimir Putin. Just a tad intense.

I haven't had a snake yet but ever since I've gotten into snakes and reptiles, I've loved Burmese especially because of how beautiful they are and the time I got to touch a really big beautiful female. I probably won't ever get a big snake but if I did, I'd get a Burmese.

I've owned giants in the past, but I won't in the future. Retics are beautiful, but burms are far more mellow/predictable

I'm just curious why and what are some of your reasons you won't own any in the future?

Re: Burmese vs retic
They are a lot of snake to house, feed, and handle. Even the big tame puppy dogs are a handful at times. I took a bite from a friends 12' African Rock once too. Big snake bites are no fun. The thrill of owning a serpent that out weighed me was thrilling as a young man. But now just a year and change from 40, I operate on a different set of emotions [emoji12]
