When I got my first ball python, I went through the same stress and anxiety you're experiencing now. I did research, asked questions and learned a lot in the process, which is a good thing. In the end, I found out that my ball python had a case of mites after I put a decorative wooden hide in her enclosure. The hide was given to me by a friend of mine whose ball python had recently died unexpectedly. After finding the issue, I treated her for the mites, got rid of the infested hide and cleaned her enclosure. Two days later, she was taking food like a champ. Now, I don't know what the issue in your case is, it may just be a benign situation that hopefully gets resolved. I just wanted to illustrate how being informed and observant has helped me over the years. To me, learning about these magnificent animals is a big part of the joy in having them. I hope you get the issue resolved and let us know what you find out along the way. Good luck my friend.
