    Update
    Thanks to everyone who replied. I did get a CHE and put it on the new thermostat and it's kept the hot spot between 89.5 and 90.8 for the past 28 hours. I've also noticed my humidity is slightly easier to keep raised without having two heat lamps. And when the thermostat does click off, there isn't an annoying stop-light effect, which I'm sure would have annoyed the snake too.
