Re: What is your favorite reptile to see when out field herping??
So far this is my favorite and the only one I've ever come across in my life. It's an eastern hognose. Here in Mississippi http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/10...f43ddeae79.jpg

I have always loved milk snakes. My first field herp was a garter but my favorite was always a milk snake. I just LOVE their colors!!

Brown water snakes (Nerodia sipedon sipedon)
Brown water snake - found caught in landscape netting at one of our local parks. No injuries and was released, but not before I got picks of his cute face and belly

I'm lucky if I find anything at all. I've seen garter snakes (who hasn't?!) but the most amazing thing was when I found 4 developing boreal chorus frog tadpoles swimming around. I couldn't resist and I took them home with me. Unfortunately one passed due to internal injuries caused by me accidentally, but the other 3 are doing amazing. One started showing signs of hind leg paralysis, but a bit of potassium and he was back to his usual self, even eating better than the other two! I hope to find a boreal toad or a spade foot toad. In Alberta, it's mostly frogs and toads though I'd also like to come across a hognose:)
