Sorry, which picture are you claiming looks altered?
Re: California red sided garter snake
If you get one you definitely gotta post some pics of it. Those are one of my favorite garters along with the coast garter found in Humboldt county California.

I'll admit it does look like it may have a filter on it, but I've seen several pics that bright so I don't know

I agree about the filter - the green sort of glows, but I don't think the colours are all that mis-represented. I've seen others that looked just like it.
...This pic of the garter is not like some of the snakes you can find on Pinterest - there is one of a BP in mint green. (I expect if that snake actually existed, I would have seen it here first!)

I breed this garter, as do several other breeders including Jeff Benfer. I can tell you for sure that there are localities in California where the animal can look like this particular animal. They ( California red sideds) have cousins known as the San Francisco garter snake which appear to resemble this animal in coloration with a different patterning. The S.F. garter is endangered and federally protected. Actually the animal in the photo is more representative of the S.F. garter snake. I believe the photo is legit.

Do you sell them, and if so how much are they? For say a female?
