My mom works at CBSA, I'm asking her now to look into it.

I suspect that if you do not have cities paperwork, the Canadien customs will not allow you to take the snake into their country.

My last stop is Portland, visiting kinfolk along the way. I'll have my sister get that paperwork looked into and that. Thanks for heads up

This is what she was able to tell me

Before leaving the U.S with your snake, you need to stop at U.S Customs
"Wildlife in any form, including pets, imported into or exported from the United States must be declared and cleared on a FWS form 3-177 (Declaration for Importation or Exportation of Fish or Wildlife) by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) prior to release by U.S. Customs and Border Protection."

You'll have to fill out and receive some forms, and once it's been cleared you should have no problem entering Canada.

"Amphibians and reptiles (excluding turtles and tortoises) are not regulated under the Health of Animals Regulations (other than Part XII that regulates the transport of all animals). As a result, there is no Canadian Food Inspection Agency requirement to obtain an import permit, nor a health certificate. Under normal circumstances, there are no border inspections. Imports are permitted from any country, for any use, to any destination in Canada."

If you skip the step of stopping at U.S customs to declare your BP, You could be refused entry with the animal until you do so... It really all depends on if the CBSA agent you get is familiar with the U.S law or not. You'd be taking a chance trying to go through without the proper papers. My mom said that sometimes if you explain that it's just a pet and that you will not be selling it for profit then they may be lenient, but again it's a chance you'd be taking if they decide not to be.
