Re: Some spots of what looks like blood where the scales should be
Bump. The marks are still there. I can't seem to get the dried blood off and there's a spot that looks like it's scabbed.

It look like an injury for sure betadine and if you are having humidity problems switch to a substrate that holds moisture...like cypress or eco-earth. And tinfoil the screen top...you also need to figure out what he is rubbing on to force scales off...keep an eye out for infection

Re: Some spots of what looks like blood where the scales should be
I got Forest Floor bedding from Zoo Med (Cypress) that's supposed to keep moisture in better so hopefully that serves a difference but I won't disturb her to change it right now because she just ate.
She doesn't really do much throughout the day and I don't know what she's doing at night, if anything. Since she's still young I'm sure she stays coiled up most of the time. I have a tree cave decoration that just fits in the 20 gallon tank and she can fit in it, it's just really hard to get her out. To actually take her out gently I would need to unlatch the top of the cage and take it off along with the heat lamp and UB lamp. What I usually do is try to carefully pull her body out but it usually ends up in her resisting and the hard surface of the edge of the cave opening usually rubs on her. I never saw any tearing, though, but it could've been a possibility.
Since it appeared when she got into shedding, maybe she rubbed up against that part of the tree to try to break the shed but it took her new scales off? I'm unsure.
I'll search for some Betadine. How should I apply it? With a cotton ball on the effected area? And also, if it was infected, what would it look like?

Edit: (Apparently editing is disabled after a certain time) I got Chlorhexidine Gluconate 4% and I read that you're supposed to dilute it? I read more on that but people also said that they bathed their snake in this stuff but I really don't want to do that I'd rather to apply the liquid onto the injury and have her go back to sleep. So my question still remains: Should I apply it with a cotton ball or a Q-tip once it's dilated?
