it really does on the combos and also personal taste.
too many pattern morphs make a BP cluttered IMO. I would imagine that the pattern of a Black Pastel Leopard Spider GHI ball python would look crazy busy/messy. whereas multiple pattern and color or recessive genes can add balance or enhancement to each other.
for example, i really like the GHI Mojave and i've seen a GHI Mojave Ghost and GHI Mojave Gstripe. they reduce patterns while adding little pattern/stripe details that look great. however, i do not like the GHI Mojave Spider as the Spider gene re-adds pattern and thickens the dorsal stripe to the point it looks overwhelming. I think it defeats the purpose of the GHI Mojave combo look. That’s IMO.
And then there’s this beautiful and balanced GHI Pastel Yellowbelly Phantom.

I agree that she is really great looking, my only point was that you really can't tell what went into her. I really like to see how each gene affects the combination, but that is just my personal preference.
