I don't think the gloves I use are surgical grade (I acutally use the gloves to deal with my tarantula), but I picked them up at a Walgreens. You should be able to pick up some in any pharmacy section, although you may have to go to Walgreens or something like that to get a specific size (I have small hands, and the other places I tried had one size fits all..which would probably be too big for me.)

Ah, but every time I washed my hands, I'd have to do that again. (Not sure mom would appreciate the liberal use of soap to clean the faucet.) ;)
That's a good idea mlededee. I'll have to get a roll of paper towels just for that.
Hah, I have a plan!
(all my non reptile owning friends think I'm nuts)

Most of my non-reptile owning friends think I'm nuts just for the simple fact that I own reptiles!

Ah.. yes. I'm just glad they don't look in the freezer and see all the bags of frozen rats in there.

Nope, not the same ... You can get them from one of the many online medical supply sites.

Ok then. 30 seconds under hot water it is. Crocodile skin, here I come.
You use the gloves for your quarantines only? And I expect you use a new pair for each animal? (Why do I even ask..)

Yes quarantines only ... I love actually feeling my ummm "snakes" too much to use them for the healthy guys. And yes new pair of gloves for each one.

*sigh* I get comments similar to that nearly every day from guys when I'm at work. Sometimes I wish I could sic the snake on them.. heheh.
As a side note, how long do you quarantine? Sorry if you already told me that before..
-
LOL ... Hey, I was good ... I almost always refer to my snakes as "balls" ... thought I'd skip it for that post!
I do a minimum 90 day quarantine on all of my new arrivals. Sometimes it will go longer because I like to bring them all out at the same time and they often come in at different times. So I'll wait until the last one in is done and bring them all over to my shop together.

lol I see. Nice try. (being good that is)
90 days quarantine sounds good. 6 months seemed a bit long, and one month not long enough. Makes sense to bring them all over at the same time.
