    I mention it because sometimes the obvious is overlooked. I've known people that either didn't know or assumed snakes didn't need a water dish for whatever reason and their snakes ended up dying.

    That is just crazy to me. Good point. I guess it seemed like an obvious need to me but I can totally see some people leaving it out. I was actually legitimately curious if people were somehow using another unseen method. It's not like snakes can drink from a water bottle but the mental image did strike me lol.

    Water dishes are especially necessary for Barstow snakes, it gets so hot and dry here in the summer. It is very easy to have your snake feel dehydrated even with a 50-60% humidity in the enclosure. And some people have no idea out here that snakes take baths, let alone drink water. So many desert snakes and animals get their water from their food, after all.
