Like everyone said, don't worry about it. They will move it where they want it. The other day one of mine decided she wanted indoor plumbing. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/09...dc2ebd9164.jpg
This morning her hide was right back over the hot spot

    Kraft Indented Paper
I'm using Kraft indented paper as a substrate. The paper has little embossed knubs on it that discourage things from sliding around.

You can order it off Uline.com in various widths, either in sheets or rolls. Here's what it looks like:

I don't know if I believe that the python is smart enough to move its house to where it wants it. I always see my BP's sliding their hides inch by inch simply when entering them or when exploring their cage. I keep them from moving them all around just by giving them 2-3 hides which gives them options and I place them in such a way that they hold each other in place.

I've concluded that your snakes' ability to move/slide hides around is a good thing, and they will move them as needed to service thermoregulation. It's fascinating to see how my kingsnake relocates its used paper towel tube hides around in the cage.

The hides in Smaug's original cage rarely moved, and even then very little. We moved her to a different cage a couple weeks ago, and she's started moving her hides around. Same type of hides, same floor material, same bedding. I can only conclude she's doing it on purpose.
