Do check out the two Stickies about the right set ups for enclosures. I started with the one that danipanda showed, and it was great for me until Ginny outgrew it. There is a great debate in the BP world about housing snakes in tub racks vs. glass tanks/aquariums. It's all a matter of personal preference. However, glass enclosures are definitely more difficult.

    Here's Ginger's

    Very nice pbyeerts! :)
And exactly, it's all personal preference and circumstance. If you plan on only ever having the one snake, then a single glass enclosure makes sense. If you plan on expanding your collection at some point, then investing in a rack/tub system now makes sense. Research the pros and cons of each before making a choice! :)

so i went today and got a new set up http://i.imgur.com/hVVTDR7.jpg, and his temp is 77-82-88 from cool to hot. his humidity is at 55. i was just able to go to petsmart because my local reptile shop was closed so i still need a i rheostat because his uth was too hot and i was worried it would hurt him.

It looks good!! Only thing is that the thermometer probes should be placed just under the substrate of the area you want to know the temperature of. :)

Excellent beginning! We prefer an infrared heat gun to check temps, and the Accu-Rite line of thermometers/hygrometers for accuracy. The little round one that you have is typically unreliable.

A great beginning! Make sure to read the Sticky about setting up a tank, if you haven't already. Good job [emoji216]
