No need to apologize, we are all here because of our love of these wonderful snakes, breeders and keepers alike. Keep us updated as your snakes grow, we love to see progression pictures!

The only reason I chose to breed is because I cannot afford one big payment of $1000 for a morph that I want. (Clown for example which is my favorite morph). I can afford $200 for a het pair but not $1000 for the real thing, so I breed to get the morphs I want. A puma is also a good example because I bought a cinnamon yellowbelly for $300 before I even knew of the puma. Instead of just going out to buy a puma at $800 (some even go for $1000)... I bought a spark for $225 instead. The only problem breeding for this reason is you end up with extras, so you have to sell them. I would like to call myself more of a collector then a breeder but I (will be) breeding so I can collect... if that makes any sense. My love for these snakes tops it of course.

But I'm also finding that as my reptile hobby "matures" I'm becoming less interested in breeding common species like ball pythons, and more interested in the snake species or locality boas whose wild populations are at risk.

I was also unaware of the program to release CB eastern indigoes to the wild, I will have to check in to that.

They have changed their website. My previous understanding was that the EI's propagation, release and protection was their main goal, but they seem to have expanded their mission. (Currently looks pretty diluted and directionless, even though the site has beautiful photographs.)

Hope they are still getting that done.

I would love to get a girlfriend for my pinstripe and hatch a clutch of eggs one day, but only once I have the means to keep all the babies.

You've got some handsome snakes there! Any plans to collect more in the future?

Well I'll keep taking in normals that need homes as long as I have the space/money. Eventually I might want to get a 2 or 3 gene female to possibly pair up with my pinstripe but I'm still debating it.

Hey KW, I just saw your avatar. If you are into mustaches you may want to consider a Boa!
