Nighttime drops are not necessary. They can be helpful when getting ready to breed snakes, but otherwise, not needed.

I was at the MARS talk too and I think you are misunderstanding what Alan was saying.
Sure, ball pythons may breed without a nighttime drop. I have some pairs that would breed all year round if I let them. But, if you want to breed ball pythons and know with a great deal of certainty that your male is going to produce sperm and your female is going to ovulate, then nighttime drops are required. Otherwise getting eggs is a crap shoot.

Dont buy any zoo med products!!!! Your paying for the name... I use Hagenproducts as far as bulbs. Goto www.reptiledirect.com they have them really cheap and they are the same thing....
