I ended up going with Big Cheese and couldn't be happier. Their customer service was polite and responsive. The rodents were exceptionally clean and healthy, as well as of proper size. Also the 29$ flat rate shipping can't be beat.

My go to suppliers are Big Cheese (vacuum packed) and Laynes Labs (cleanest feeders I've ever seen)

Honestly I was overwhelmed by the quality from Big Cheese. The rodents looked literally freshly killed. No freezer burn, no signs of illness or decay. Looked like they could reanimate at any minute.

Also throwing my hat in for Big Cheese. They got better prices than the other guys, but with more consistently reliable quality, I've found.

I started with Layne Labs as well. You are right the quality of their feeders and their packaging is top notch. I think Big Cheese matches them in these areas but beats them hands down on price. Layne Lab's shipping fees are a bit much for me.

That's exactly what I was thinking with Laynelabs. Sounds like they are very comparable. I paid $36 shipping, so maybe Big Cheese is cheaper by $7 on shipping, I wonder if size of rats break down similar vs cost. Also my shipment from Laynelabs had amazing packing; corrugated foil insulation sheet between large piece of dry ice... it was ice cold when I unpacked everything.

I've only done one order so far from Perfect Prey but they're great. I mostly went with them because I live in the same state as them, so it's only like 18 bucks shipping and they're also just about the cheapest per rodent.

I love that flat rate shipping Big Cheese has going on right now, it is a great savings, I hope it becomes permanent. Sometimes they are out of sizes I need however. A note on shipping with Layne, if you call the orders in, he'll sometimes give a break on the prices which makes the overall order total very comparable to Big Cheese. I usually order every other month, about $200-300.

Wow, Layne was way too high for me on shipping, $83 for a $80 order!! :taz:

Now that is shipped to TX.

While Big Cheese was out of both medium and large rats, I fiqure I'd just load my guys up on smalls for now. They won't have any mediums or larges for two weeks.

Flat rate shipping of $29 still. :)

I get all my f/t at Professional Reptiles, in Reno.

Their website is horribly out of date, but:

    Facebook page:

However, I pick them up there, rather than having them shipped. I also got my live mice there - all males for feeding off to my BP female that won't take f/t.
