That reminds me, I was curious about whether the 48 hours of no handling after feeding rule applies to BPs. I know it's true for corns, but does the same go for balls?

    Thanks

i heard the 48 h thing somewhere one this forum so i assume its about BPs (i dont have any other herps so i wouldnt have looked it up;)

but check with someone a little more expirenced(anyways i always feel its better to get more than one opionin since every herp is different [even within species] eveybody has a different way of dealing with them but if alot of peeps agree on something that probably the best way to go)

PS thanks for ur help guys GOD I LOVE THIS SITE

Yup, you don't want to upset the digestive system and cause regurgitation. So let him or her digest for a couple of days before handling.

lol, I understand your mistake, alexrls. But I too didn't see a big problem in just having newspaper only. As long as it's enough sheets that the heat doesn't come through too much. I'd just monitor the surface temps to make sure it's not too hot.

And yeah, the 48 hour rule applies to BP's aswell as most snakes I believe. I usually feed my bp on friday nights, and don't handle her until Monday night. Gives her plenty of time to digest, I think. Although sometimes I do have to handle her to do something only a day after feeding, but she doesn't seem to mind. I've yet to have a regurge on my hands. :)

Nice way to hijack this thread. If the topic of your question doesnt really fit in with the current topic of the thread, please either start another thread or do a quick search to see if someone has posted a recent thread on the topic you which to discuss.

Well, they were talking about taking them out after they fed to replace sbstrate (AKA handling). So, I guess thats what brought that up.
