so that's why I don't like the "trade" names. And this one makes my point precisely. I'm not going to tell my neighbor, "Hey did you see that cool snake called 'Pants Party'!". Never. Too bad I don't have Disco in my gene pool. Want one of those.

Nah, try casper ugly moo moo pants for funniest WOBP name.

SamO, I personally like the individual names. I really, really don't want to say super pastel spider pinstripe axanthic. I'd much rather say axanthic killer spinner. Try saying butter calico pinstripe super pastel quickly. You really have to think about it, and it's easy to get tongue tied. If you can also call it an angel, may as well. However, if a combo (like the angel) is very uncommon, then I think the genes in the combo should be listed along with the name. I've found that most breeders are perfectly willing to tell you about the animals. You just need to ask. If they won't say what they are... run. I think that a combo name is best used in conversation. I don't want to say, "My butter calico pinstripe super pastel just started breeding with my super pastel spider pinstripe axanthic!" I would much rather say, "My angel just started breeding with my axanthic killer spinner!" If someone asks what they are, great! There's some fuel to the conversation. Some combo names are just plain obvious. I figured out what a spinner was on my own, and I knew what a spied was without looking it up. It makes sense. Knowing a few base genes is often enough to figure out a number of combos. I don't see a problem with going on WOBP to figure out designer morphs if you don't know. Just my two cents.

what i do not like is all the fairly common gene + "random breeder name" line crap.

you have a fire BP man. maybe a better quality fire, but still a fire.

i'm not a fan of hubris, if you have not noticed.
