Thanks for all the info everyone! With all of this I think that dachsunds might not be the best fit for us. We are still considering them, but with our lifestyle im not sure that they would fit. My fiancé has a giant family with tons of kids, I would hate to have an incident with my pup biting someone. My dogs have always been great with kids, I really don't want to have to worry about a doxie biting someone.
After doing more research we also might be looking at English Bulldogs. Seems like they not only tolerate, but enjoy being around kids. And get along well with other dogs. Anyone have any experiences? Im going to make another posting about it as well.
