    I've heard one of the drawbacks, if there are any, is some snakes being hard to manage during feeding (since you're entering the cage at "snake-level." I've heard that certain Kingsnakes come "flying out of the cage..."

    That said, would it be be better to get an AP or other PVC cage with a sliding, or a "hinged" door option ?

    I have both hinged and sliding and every tank I build from here out is sliding. You can slide one side open big enough to get your fedder and tong in and eliminate getting bite.

    Feeding is wayy safer and you couse how big the opening is. Only downside is if u have a very active snake pushing substrate into the track.
