    First of all, by stunning you're NOT making it permanently dizzy. It can go into a frenzy at any point. A stunned feeder is the most dangerous kind of feeder because now they're unpredictable and going to be fighting for their life. Best way to feed live is by taking care of the feeder before feeding and making sure it's calm. Calm rats and mice will just go groom themselves or explore without realizing they're dinner.

    Best advice I can give you beyond what Misha has already stated if you are going to feed live is Supervision. Do not leave a live rat that is bigger than a pup (or mouse hopper when feeding mice) in the enclosure with your snake unsupervised, because you never know your snake may not be interested in feeding.
