I will also touch on this

In my experience cutting (sometimes too early) and messing with the eggs (checking on them) once cut will lead to tangled umbilicus. Tangles umbilicus are RARE the fact that you experienced this several times being new is not normal.

We only had 1 die from the tangled umbilical. The other 4 died from hard yolk (they were green eggs, which I posted about earlier.)

We never even cut the egg that died from the tangled umbilical. Just bad luck I suppose.

By any chance, did you have any temperature fluctuations during incubation?
I'm not sure if that increases the odds of umbilical issues, but it can cause odd patterning, kind of like what that baby has.

Of course, I could be WAY off base, and it's just a cool aberrant enchi-something. [emoji12] Either way, it's a beautiful snake and I hope he makes it!

Hockeygirl28, sorry about the mishap with the little guy. Hope all turns out well. Great looking hatchling! :gj:

We ended up losing the little enchi pastel [emoji20] we tried to deli cup with moistened towel. It looked like the fall ended up pulling some umbilical back out of him [emoji20] seems so unlucky.

On a positive note, the last two hatched out fine, but we could use some help identifying them. As requested, here they are:

We think the guy on the right is a lemon blast because he's got a faded grayish purple head. The guy on the left we think is a jigsaw blast, though not sure because he does seem to have some funky patterning. Here's a better picture:

If anyone has a better idea, let me know!

    Thanks!

Aw, I'm sorry you lost him. I was really excited to see what he looked like out. These other two look great however!

I'm sorry to hear that you lost him. :(

In my fairly amateur opinion, I think you've identified them correctly. Beautiful little babies!

Im just hoping that is just a eye trick in the picture, but it looks as if he has a slight kink in lower end?
