The snake that belongs to Voldemort is Nagini, and the basilisk doesn't appear to have a name (unless you count Serpent of Slytherin as a name). Fawkes is the name of the phoenix.

Seriously though, I'm thinking sol, as in 'the sun', latin style. He looks pretty bright to me - or you could think of sol as Sh!# outta luck (with respect to melanin).
