Another thing - young Burms are BRATS!!!! Hissy, urate-flinging, nippy little snots until they figure out (yep) you're not going to eat them. Regular, positive interaction will help this phase pass quickly.

I always keep the fact that these are not "tameable animals" in the back of my mind. By that I just mean that not all burmese pythons are going to be puppy dog tame, for instance we have a ten foot albino burm at home who is the meanest burm I have ever met. We handle her weekly if not more for the past six months. She is still just full of piss and vinager. But the good news is most of the burms we come across are sweet, even the badly neglected ones most often then not do come around.

She is getting better but of course it takes time. i have been able to hold her but she hisses most of the time and sometimes tries to strike me when i try to get her out of her cage.

Bpkid, I think you're referring to ball python bites. I admit I've never been hit by either, but I think a burm bite would hurt more than a ball bite. If nothing else, the burm has more weight to throw around...I could be completely wrong though.

I dont know either the only time i have been bitten is by a RTB and it wasnt too bad. The burm hasnt gotten me yet just tried but stops short but she is getting better.
