    Neosporin ointment is petroleum jelly with the antibiotic, and eventually the petroleum jelly will soften your snake's scales and cause them to flake off. For reptiles you're better off using Vetericyn, which is available online or at Petco, or Silvadene, which is available online without a prescription at http://www.mountainside-medical.com/.
