So be careful and get a rheostat to adjust and fine tune your heat pad. 111 is warm but unregulated I temped one at 140.
good luck and have fun with your new Bp. I give you 2 months max before you'll have another one.

    Was thinkin about corn snake.

OP - You said you're seeing high temps. How high are you talking? Anything 95 or over is unsafe for your BP and you need to get a thermostat to be able to control the temperature of that heat pad.

I think I get it... Does the thermostat probe connect to the regulator and the thermometer probe connect to the read out device hydrometer/thermometer?

I don't want to buy another and with my understanding you only need temp from heat pad and RH from inside.

Yes - black is just fine. I'm not sure what model (or even what piece of equipment) you're referring to. Google was no help. Perhaps a picture would help? Edit: a little more Google-fu led me to thinking that what you're talking about is a thermometer. Thermometer =/= Thermostat

The thermostat probe goes between the glass and the heat pad on the outside of the enclosure. The heat pad plugs into the thermostat and the thermostat plugs into the wall. You set the thermostat to the temperature you want your heat pad to reach and it does its thing.

The thermometer is a completely separate piece of equipment. You place its probe right above the heat mat inside the enclosure and it will tell you the hottest temperature that your BP will have access to. If this reading is above or below where you would like it, you adjust the thermostat's setting as appropriate to reach the temperature you would like.

    Does that make sense?

Fair enough Eric. TY for correcting for the OP. I knew something I wrote seemed off but was exhausted and couldn't figure out what.
