Since he is afraid of mice, try switching to small, f/t rats. They have a different scent.

Here is a size chart. Get a rat of equal size, f/t. Follow the instructions earlier in this post to heat him up. I would wait until next feed to try to feed him, but you can buy it and store it in the freezer.

I'm going to leave the mouse in overnight and if he still doesn't eat I will go and buy a rat
