    Under no circumstances should someone attempt a retained eyecap removal at home. Why people even recommend it is beyond me. There are serious risks if done wrong, and little to no risk to just leaving them for the next shed.

    You can literally rip the living lens off of the eye, which will end up costing you a lot of money to address as well as probably permanently blinding or disfiguring the snake...not to mention causing it tremendous pain.
