I am lucky to have an amazing husband who not only puts up with me  but puts up with my hobby (snakes and rodents).

My husband does not like either snakes or rodents, he thought I was crazy when years ago I told him I wanted a snake, thought I was even crazier when I told him I wanted to breed them, but he supports me and encourage me to do what I like even if this is not is thing.

Being in a relationship does not mean you have to have everything in common, like or participate in everything your other significant does.....it means you need to be understanding, accepting and supportive :gj:

My hubby is WAY into sports.. ask him anything about sports and he's encylopedia.. i talk about wanting another snake and he rolls his eyes.. because he knows snakes for me come in multiples of two because *you can't just get one* :D (That's my philosophy anyways) I know if he had a real problem with it he would put his foot down.. my 3 year old daughter LOVES the snakes and all rodents.. she just can't figure out why the mice scurry away from her..

My wife isn't thrilled with snakes but ive got her to hold them and she goes with me to shows and she wants to pick out the next one(a banana). She's slowly coming around.

My husband loves the snakes. Especially Strudel, he's the one that named her, lol! It's just the cost of keeping and feeding more pets that he not too terribly keen on. He puts up with it though.

Good job on picking up some from Ben Renick! He's a great guy with awesome animals. You won't be disappointed!

My husband doesn't want anything to do with my snakes, but he built me an awesome "turtle table" for my little tortoise I got last year. And he's extremely proud and supportive of the work I do in the reptile world and the travels that sometimes takes me on. But he won't stay in the room if I get a snake out, and he's insistent that his home doesn't "turn into a zoo."

The fact that he's active duty military does help keep things on a practical level because moving, on average, every 18 months means I can't keep too many animals anyhow. But even so, I would never bring in more animals without consulting with him first, out of love and respect for him. He did promise me though, that when the time (finally!) comes that we retire and settle down someplace permanently, we'll buy a home with some extra land and he'll build me a "snake house" that I can keep anything in that I want. Don't know when that "someday" might be, but... :D

My girlfriend was less than pleased when i dove back into my hobby, she even told me i wasn't allowed to go to expos by myself anymore. (This made me break out in uncontrollable laughter complete with finger pointing,. This was after i came home from a show after dropping nearly a grand on new animals. BPs and bearded dragons)

I gave her a baby ball i got that day and now she is all on board after i showed her pictures of what i wanted to produce.

Yes Judy please thank him for his service.. and i think we share dreams.. all i want is a devoted room for my babies and the feeders.. i broke the news to my husband last night that the BP's will get big enough to eat rats.. his response was "OH great!" he thinks they are creepy.. me on the other hand when i had my savannah monitor had two pet rats and i loved them.. we're going to be building a rat rack this weekend..

i wish i didn't have to build it.. i'd rather pay someone.. BUT atleast i can say that i built it for myself.. :) the design came off this forum.. did i mention i LOVE this place? :pc::date:
