It's funny other than this board if I mention either BCC or BCI people look at me like "What the heck are you talking about".

I have been told that due to regions there are a untold amount of subspecies of Boa and you never really can tell how big they are gonna get. That being said I am figuring on Jay getting any where from 6-9 feet long.

    Wow pretty snake

usually the BCI's pattern is like this () () but the BCC is like this {} {} or somthing like that, its hard to explain on the computer.

I know what you mean. What does it look like to you?

Well compared to my pic of the BCC it looks like a BCI to me

Its kinda hard to see but if you look at the snake in my pic, up by where its neck is bent you can see an almost upside down mushroom looking thing and its pattern is more square like.

Im really not sure tho, im no expert when it comes to identifying BCI's and BCC's but if i had to choose i would say its a big bci
The snake in your picture, the patterns are pretty round

Reptidude- looks like a BCI just going by pattern.. if it is a BCI, I would question if it is a female rather than a male. I have never heard or seen a male BCI get that big! But it is a pretty snake, and if you have the room for what is suppose to be an 8 ft snake (according to the current owner), with the possibility of it growing more being something you should consider, and are able to maintain feeding it- I say go for it!

The only true way to know is to get the scale count done, and even then its not 100% accurate. More than likely your snake to be is a BCI. Most of the boa's in the pet trade are just Columbian boa's ( aka BCI's ), so unless your friend paid more money for it, i'm willing to bet that its a BCI.

BCI vs BCC is more about locality of the snake than anything. Most Columbian boa's are BCI's but there are some specific localities in Columbia where BCC's are found.

Now .. to get this one back on topic:

Python-77, have you decided whether or not you are going to get that snake?

Its a male. He has had him sexed. He has a female mate. The breeder wants to keep the female and sell me the male. Its truely a 8 foot BCI. Is this a record? lol
