I have never had the displeasure of dealing with snakes mites
but spider mites on my plants have been a problem. To isolate a plant, I have ringed the plant in borax. Mites can't cross it. The same thing might work if you put a ring of borax around the outside your snake's cage. If you try this, make sure no children or pets can get into the borax. It is poisonous.

When I bring a new snake into my house, I use a simple Sterilite container with vent holes drilled into it. I put double sided tape around the outside of the tank between the vent holes and the base of the tank. If anything with jointed legs tries to get in or out, it gets stuck in the tape.
