Anything but dubstep; I have a frog named Dubstep that gets upset and starts calling whenever he hears dubstep mucic (and hairdryers, but naming a pet 'Hairdryer' would just be kind of strange) so basically I listen to anything that doesn't set off the frog.
LOL! I absolutely love this, made me laugh and totally made my day!

A mixture of rock, sappy 80s love songs, Epica & Nightwish, and epic instrumentals (movie soundtracks). It really depends on what story I'm working on (I'm a writer). Sometimes I'll toss some old school country (80s/90s) and occasionally I'll even listen to some King Diamond or Mercyful Fate (but dont tell my hubs that, He thinks I hate his music ;))

I don't believe age has everything to do with musical taste, but I do believe it can lead to a wider variety of exposure. In short listen to what you like.
