Hopefully my post won't become relevant, but if you happen to have the need again, place him in the fridge, not the freezer, while you wait for a necropsy. The freezer damages tissue and makes the sample impossible to diagnose.

On a happier note, I'm glad you were able to resuscitate him!

I wish i had a video of this cause I know it's unbelievable. By midnight he was totally coherent and moving around like nothing happened. We are taking him to a reptile vet right now. This was a straight miracle. I mean he was dead. Inside of his mouth was black and blue. When he started coming back it was normal pink color. He even bit my wife in the leg. Omg I almost put him in the freezer. Was planning a necropsy. I'm mean he's totally normal right now. My whole family is in shock at what we witnesses. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

You must have posted about the death during compressions yet don't update us on revival? That's just cold. I've only had a few JCP in my life but all of them have had blue tinted flesh inside their mouths - not sure what's up with your pink boy. I am very happy to offer congratulations instead of the condolences I expected.

I made the original post right after we found him. After about 15 min my wife went back and started breathing for him and massaging the area where his heart was. My wife is one of those who won't give up and do all things possible for the animals. It seriously was something to witness. He was laying on on his back and you could actually see his heart start to beat. My wife talked to the vet this morning and told them what happened. They were stumped. I'll post updates as they come in.

Wow. Glad he's pulled through. Interesting to see what the vet says.

Update: so we took him to a well respected reptile vet in Houston. They found nothing wrong with him. Weight was good, heart was good. They drew some blood and should have results tomorrow. They said we did everything right. They also said snakes could stop there hearts for sometime before it restarts somehow. They said just observe him for a few days an try feeding again Sunday. Nothing else they cod do. He was healthy.
