    I use ESU terrarium liner for my snakes, washes easily and very durable so I'm not throwing anything away...besides the poo. For the rodents I use a mixture of whatever I have at the time, usually shredded newspaper, recycled paper material, and wood shavings.

    After the newsprint comes out of the cages I wallpaper with them - as Martha Stewart would say "the aroma knows no equal and perfectly compliments your holiday squalor".

    Kidding of course - I just toss the substrates ('cept spiderdirt I toss in the "garden")
