Serious question, why would they squeal? Is it like hissing for a snake ( the ol' "leave me alone" )? I've never owned or really had any close up experience with cresties, but i am considering a couple.

yes and no, males sometimes fight with females around. i have kept females together but not males. babies and juvies can be kept together.
