I think i'm gonna do it even if I can't find a co-pilot. 5hrs one way isn't a bad drive for me. I want to go to bad not to pass it up...I'll probably head out soon, only 20 minutes untill i get out of work!

I just got back from the Ohio show. Picked up my new Crested Gecko from Robbie Hamper and a Bredls Carpet Python from Don Hamper. They are both gorgeous - I'll post pics later in their respective forums. It was a nice show. About the same size if not smaller than my monthly show here in Indianapolis, Indiana. They had a lot more non-reptile animals for sale than at my show (rabbits, ferrets, hamsters, guinea pigs, etc). They also had a lot more turtles, more supplies to buy, about the same amount of lizards, but definitely less snakes. However, they did have some different species that I don't recall seeing to often in Indy. It was a good time. Robbie Hamper was great. I actually ran into one of the breeders I've purchased from before (he's from Philly, but comes to the Indy show). He let me handle one of his 4year old Australian Water Pythons........I feel in love, but resisted! It was worth the 3 hour drive as it's always nice to visit a different show. Plus I got two great reptiles! Anyone else make it?

Was that PT Reptiles? IF so he's a cool guy - has those liasis with him at a lot of shows and man they are gorgeous and really tractable - every time i run into him I wind up shooting the shee FAR longer than anticipated - glad all of you had a good time wish I could have joined ya (though we're a bit tied up getting this whole homecoming deal line dup for our eldest).

Yep - Peter Rushton from PT Reptiles. He is great. He was so shocked to see me there (only sees me in Indy) he wanted a hug! I held the male liasis and man do they have a grip! He was a bit wirey at first but eventually calmed down. But that grip was something! I'd hate to see what it feels like to be prey. So does Peter do shows in your area Smulkin?

As I walked away from the Hampers table I noticed they had a Brown Water Python.....oh the temptation!

I made 6hr drive down friday night...uhg! but it was worth it. I ate my McD's breakfast in the parking lot of the show at 8am...early as usual. The variety wasn't bad but didn't seem as great as previous shows (although its been a year probably since my last OH show). I purchased the largest female ball python I saw there...and I'm pretty sure it was the only female that wasn't this years. $50 well spent and a new contact made, this girl I should be able to bread within a few months she has awesome girth and weight for her age. I also picked up a couple water dragons at the request of the pet store owner I'm working with. I almost bought a little blood, it was only $65 but some other lucky reptile seeker jumped on it before me. One guy who came in late had several 04 albino BP's...dang they where awesome. He was also selling some het for pied pretty cheap. I had to fight myself not to buy this awesome looking 66% het that upon first glance I would have sworn it was a pastel but for only $90 obviosly it was not. Lots of pretty cool animals and a fun time making circle after circle studying all the animals.

I see PT at most of the shows I hit it seems - we have a few snakes from him - mostly colubrids. Hamper is where Smynx got her female fuscus (can't remember have to ask her where she got the male). The male is totally cool - nice and mellow, inquisitive and unshy - a pleasure. The female is just spite incarnate - whips with the tail, thrashes and the only snake we have that will launch itself completely airborne with a strike, and there are no shortage of those. All hail the mighty hook lol.
