He looks beautiful. Looks exactly like mine. Congrats. Ok, please don't crucify me for asking the usual questions but since you just joined the site recently and I'll assume (maybe wrongfully so) that this is your first Ball, allow me ask the following:
How are you monitoring/regulating the tank's temperature?
I see one cool hide. Do you have a second one (one for cool side and one for hot side)?
You mentioned you are feeding him mice the size of the widest part of his body. Nice. Sounds like you did your research. I will say that a mouse fuzzy is a pretty small morsel so I hope you are right about it's size compared to Marshall.
I will say you did join a very good forum here. Take advantage of all it offers. Good luck with Marshall.

Thanks! Yes he is my first!
Right now I only have an analog thermometer, next time I go into city I will pick up a digital.
I have placed the hide directly in the middle, so half is on hot side half on cool side.
Is a fuzzy mouse really so small? I could be mistaken, I will ask about this tomorrow when I go in to pick up Marshall's meal.
Thanks for your kindness!!

Re: Meet Marshall(pics)
Does he have a plant or anything to get under on the cool side...I suspect he will be spending a lot of time there...it doesn't have to be fancy, a plastic sandwich box with a hole cut out will work. Putting the hide in the middle doesn't give him an option where he can thermoregulate.

OP left so you probably wont get a response.
Let the thread fall off

personally i wouldnt ask the pet store what size they should be fed, most of the time they dont even know what they are talking about, i posted something about it here: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...90#post2132690
yes a fuzzy mouse is too small, i would switch to rats as soon as you can because mice are nothing but bone and fur. also get another hide or clutter up the cage with some crumbled up newspaper or regular paper, it will make the snake feel more secure and able to thermo regulate easier. i usually use cracker boxes or something similar for hides in one of my cages, just cut out the back of the box so it can lay flat in the cage and cut a hole in the front, works just fine. good luck

Fuzzy mouse is pretty small. My little 120g 8 week old high white pied girl eats 21g rat fuzzies easily every 4 days but she is a pig. The pet shop said she was a problem feeder, only problem im finding is she wont stop eating :P In the 2 weeks I've had her, she has eaten 3 fuzzy mice and 3 fuzzy rats, shed and took a HUGE poop while I was soaking her in her little tub. I would definitely bump it up to either hopper mice or fuzzy rats. I prefer rats so all my snakes will be on the same food plus i'll be able to feed 1 rats vs 4 or 5 mice when she gets big. Maybe its just me but he looks on the thin side to me. Have you weighed him?
