Note to self - when looking into the options for exotic pets, check your local and state laws first.
Just found out after extensive husbandry research that Ackies are the only legal monitor species in Massachusetts without a permit. Is the tristis close enough to not matter? Probably any of the australian dwarf species are fine, but it certainly would have narrowed my search early on had I read the rules.
